Jalandhar December 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- DAV University, Jalandhar witnessed a historic and momentous occasion with the inauguration of the Smt. Sushila & Shri Om Parkash Suri School of Law & Management Block and the University Guest House by Arya Rattan Dr. Punam Suri, Padma Shri awardee, Chancellor, DAV University, Jalandhar, and President, DAV College Managing Committee (CMC), New Delhi.
The auspicious ceremony commenced with a Hawan, invoking divine blessings for the continued progress, prosperity, and excellence of the university. Organised under the aegis of the Governing Body of DAV University, the event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries including Vice Presidents, DAV College Managing Committee—Justice Pritam Pal, Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Shri Anil Kumar Rao, and Justice N. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, DAV University, attributed the university’s remarkable progress in academics, infrastructure development, research, and holistic education to the visionary leadership and inspirational guidance of Arya Rattan Dr. Punam Suri. He highlighted the invaluable contributions of Late Shri Om Parkash Suri to the Arya Samaj movement and India’s freedom struggle, describing him as a multifaceted personality devoted to national service and social reform. He noted that naming the School of Law & Management after such an illustrious figure reflects the university’s reverence for ethical values, patriotism, and social responsibility, and inspires students to imbibe leadership, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to service.
Addressing the august gathering, Arya Rattan Dr. Punam Suri, Chancellor, DAV University and President, DAV CMC, reflected with deep conviction on how the ethos and timeless principles of the Arya Samaj have profoundly shaped his personal values and visionary outlook. He observed that the value-based education imparted through DAV institutions across the country continues to inspire and uplift lakhs of students, empowering them with strong character, disciplined minds, and a deep sense of social responsibility. Congratulating the DAV University fraternity on achieving NAAC accreditation, he lauded the spirit of teamwork and unwavering dedication that led to this milestone, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance. Expressing humility on inaugurating a building named in memory of his revered parents, he shared that their lives of simplicity, compassion, and selfless service continue to inspire his commitment to humanity.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Junesh Kakria, Advisor, DAV University, applauded the exemplary leadership and visionary stewardship of Arya Rattan Dr. Punam Suri, noting that under his dynamic leadership as President, DAV CMC, the DAV movement has reached unprecedented heights, with over 1,000 institutions nationwide shaping the futures of more than two million students. She also expressed gratitude to the members of the Governing Body and various committees who travelled from across the country to grace the occasion.
