Jalandhar March 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Economics of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a guest lecture as part of its continuous efforts to promote the holistic development of students. The college regularly invites subject experts to share their knowledge and experiences with students.

In this series, Ms. Nandita Kakkar, Associate Consultant at KPMG Global Services, Bengaluru, was invited as the guest speaker.
Ms. Nandita Kakkar, who was herself a student of the college during the session 2017–2020, delivered a lecture on the topic “Career in Economics During the AI Era.” While sharing her insights, she emphasized that networking plays a crucial role in securing and sustaining a good job. She highlighted the importance of LinkedIn and encouraged students to maintain professional profiles and upload their resumes on the platform to explore better career opportunities.
ChatGPT can help in gathering information
She further explained that while tools like ChatGPT can help in gathering information, the ability to analyse that information independently is essential, and this can only be developed through regular reading and self-study. Ms. Kakkar advised students that consistent effort and thorough knowledge of their chosen field are key to building a successful career, as their hard work ultimately reflects during interviews.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the valuable thoughts shared by Ms. Nandita Kakkar and said that her insights would surely inspire the students. She also remarked that when students see the success of their college alumni, they are motivated to consider them as role models and strive for excellence in their own careers.
Dr. Supreet Talwar, Head of the Department of Economics, expressed her gratitude to Ms. Nandita Kakkar for sharing her valuable experiences with the students and hoped that she would continue to guide them in the future as well.
