Jalandhar March 15 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Annual Athlete Meet 2024 was organized by the Department of Physical Education at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra inaugrated the athletic meet by releasing balloons.
Addressing the august gathering, Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that taking inspiration from the values and ethics of Dr. Stya Paul Ji, Founder Chairman of the College and the able guidance of Dr. Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education, our college relentlessly works for the the all-round development of the students. At Apeejay, the students are encouraged to participate actively in sports and extracurricular activities as well along with shining in academics. She added, every year, Athletic Meet is organised to foster the feelings of sacrifice, team spirit, and co-operation which are essential life skills.
Dr. Amandeep Singh, Head , Department of Physical Education, GNDU,Guru Nanak Dev; Dean, Faculty of Physical Education and Incharge of the Youth Welfare Department, was present as the Chief Guest.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra warmly welcomed him and shared with the audience that with his continuous support and guidance Guru Nanak Dev University is setting new records in the field of sports and youth festivals. Also, he himself is a commendable athlete of personality.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Amandeep Singh put forth that it is a privilege to be here at ACFA. He admired the farsightedness of Dr. Sushma Paul Berlia for providing quality education which ensures maximum opportunities to its students for their wholesome growth. He especially appreciated the Art Gallery of the College which depicts unique and creative work.
In the Athletic meet, 100 and 200 mtr races for both boys and girls, 400 mtr race for boys, long jump for boys and girls, shortcut for boys and girls, tug of war for boys and girls, three leg race for boys and girls, 400 mtr relay race for boys and girls was organised. Also for college staff,100 mtr race, three leg race and tug of war and 400m relay races were organized.
Dr. Dhingra praised the efforts Dr. Monica Anand (Dean, Functions), Mr. Sahil Mahay Department of Physical Education Department, Event Organizers- Dr. Payal Arora and Dr. Aarti Verma for successfully organizing the athlete meet.
