Jalandhar October 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar reverently celebrating 50 glorious years of excellence commemorated the 106th Birth Anniversary of its Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul Ji – a visionary educationist, philanthropist, industrialist, and patriot whose ideals continue to inspire generations. The solemn celebration commenced with a floral tribute to Dr. Stya Paul Ji, followed by the soulful rendition of his favourite Meera Bai bhajans, filling the atmosphere with devotion and reverence.
To honour Dr. Stya Paul Ji’s legacy of service and values, the Seth Stya Paul Award for Human Values is conferred annually upon a student who exemplifies sincerity, compassion, and social commitment. For the academic session 2025–26, this prestigious award was presented to Ribhav Batra (B.D. – Interior Design, Semester VII), who received a Certificate of Honour and a cash prize of ₹10,000.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) paid her heartfelt homage and remarked, “Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was the first educational institution that Dr. Stya Paul Ji had started and was close to his heart and today it continues to rise and shine, drawing strength and inspiration from his rich legacy.” She added our revered Founder Chairman was the true Karam Yogi whose vision and values remain the guiding force behind every accomplishment.

Dr. Dhingra also shared the inspirational message of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia (Chairperson, Apeejay Education; Apeejay Stya & Svrn Group; and Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University). Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, in her message, reflected upon the extraordinary life of Dr. Stya Paul Ji, describing him as a man who rose from humble beginnings to heights that transcended physical limitations. His life was guided by an unwavering love for truth, relentless hard work, and an unshakable faith in human potential. A true visionary, he established 26 educational institutions dedicated to moulding the lives and character of countless young minds.
The celebration also featured an enchanting Sitar recital by Dr. Sumit Singh, which enthralled the audience with its melody and spiritual resonance.
Dr. Sunit Kaur (Head, Department of English) expressed her admiration for the Founder, saying, “Humility and groundedness were the essence of his being. Rising from modest beginnings, he built a vast educational empire. His nobility transcended limitations, and thus Jalandhar was blessed with the gift of Apeejay College.”
The audience was further captivated by a soulful dance presentation of ‘Araj Suno Banwari’ by students Gargi and Samartha, which added artistic grace to the event.
A short documentary showcasing glimpses from the life and journey of Dr. Stya Paul Ji was screened to acquaint the new students with his inspiring life and achievements.
In her concluding address, Dr. Dhingra encouraged students to emulate the Founder’s ideals, emphasizing that discipline, moral integrity, and ethical conduct must form the cornerstone of their lives. She urged them to evolve as noble, value-driven individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.
