Jalandhar July 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, paid a heartfelt tribute to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, the revered first lady of the Apeejay Stya Group, by organizing the Rajeshwari Kala Utsav on the occasion of her 101st birth anniversary.
The event celebrated the rich legacy and deep artistic sensibilities of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, whose passion for Indian art and culture inspired Founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul ji to establish the Rajeshwari Kala Sangam, which eventually blossomed into the prestigious Apeejay College of Fine Arts.
On this significant occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra read out a special message from Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, Chairman, Apeejay Stya &Svran Group and Apeejay Education.

In her message, Mrs. Berlia reflected on the enduring legacy of her mother and father, calling them not just connoisseurs of Indian art but also torchbearers of its preservation and promotion.
She fondly remembered her mother as a graceful Kathak dancer and an accomplished swimmer, who led a life of simplicity, high ideals, and immense compassion. “My mother shared unconditional love and believed in living a life guided by noble values. Her artistic spirit and inspiring persona motivated my father to establish a platform that would take the arts to the masses,” she shared.
Dr. Dhingra remarked that the vision of Dr. Stya Paul and Smt. Rajeshwari Paul continues to live on through the tireless efforts of the college’s faculty and students, who are committed to preserving and spreading the essence of Indian fine arts throughout the nation.

The Utsav featured a vibrant array of performances by students from various departments. From the Music Department, students Shivam, Harsifat, Ramanik, Sonam, Sukhmani, Sahil, Kavya, and Jeevan captivated the audience with their soulful devotional and Sufi renditions. Harsh, from the Instrumental Music Department, mesmerized listeners with a stirring performance on the flute.
A visual art exhibition was also put up by the students of Fine Arts Department, in memory of the ‘First Lady’, showcasing the depth and creativity nurtured by the college. The highlight of the event was a spellbinding performance of Indian classical dance by Gargi and Samartha from the Dance Department, paying homage to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s passion for the arts.
The event was gracefully anchored by Ms. Anuradha from the Punjabi Department.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra also acknowledged and appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra (Advisor, Cultural Affairs), Dr. Amita Mishra (Dean, Youth Affairs), Dr. Micky Verma and Dr. Monika Anand, whose meticulous planning and coordination ensured the success of the event.
