Jalandhar March 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Commerce and Management of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organised a two-day workshop on Financial Literacy on 10th and 11th March in collaboration with the MAC Forum. The workshop was specially conducted for the final year students of B.Com and BBA with the aim of enhancing their awareness about financial planning, investment avenues and responsible money management.
The sessions were conducted by eminent resource persons Mrs. Anita Saini and CS Nagesh Kumar, both distinguished experts in the field of finance and capital markets. Mrs. Anita Saini, a Postgraduate in Commerce with more than two decades of experience in the banking and financial sector, shared valuable insights on investment awareness, mutual funds and financial planning. She emphasised the importance of developing sound financial habits at a young age and encouraged students to make informed financial decisions.

CS Nagesh Kumar, a seasoned professional with over 17 years of experience in compliance management and capital market operations, spoke about the role of the Securities and Exchange Board of India in regulating the securities market and safeguarding the interests of investors. He also highlighted the need for financial literacy in today’s rapidly evolving economic environment and guided students about investor protection and safe investment practices.
The workshop proved to be highly informative and interactive, enabling students to gain practical knowledge about financial markets, savings, investments and regulatory frameworks. The initiative reflects the college’s continuous efforts to equip students with essential life skills and financial awareness necessary for their future.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the initiative and emphasised that financial literacy is an essential life skill for young individuals in today’s dynamic economic environment. She stated that such workshops play a significant role in preparing students to make responsible financial choices and to become informed investors in the future. She also appreciated the dedicated efforts of Dr. Manisha Kaushal and Ms. Garima Arora for successfully organising and conducting the workshop.
