Jalandhar August 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar has always encouraged its students to fulfill their social responsibilities with sincerity and awareness. In this spirit, the Anti-Ragging Cell of the college observed Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August.
During the week, students of the Anti-Ragging Cell took an oath pledging not to engage in ragging and to motivate others to stay away from such harmful practices. A thought-provoking street play was staged by the students, highlighting the emotional trauma caused by ragging and spreading the message of building a safe and respectful academic environment.
To further raise awareness, the Anti-Ragging Cell organized a rally and a poster-making competition based on three themes – Viksit Bharat, Swachh Bharat, and Anti-Ragging. Under the theme of Viksit Bharat, Palak secured the first prize, DiyaTalwar the second, and Mannat the third. In Swachh Bharat, Akshat Sharma won the first position, Megha Thakur the second, and Natasha the third. For the Anti-Ragging theme, Ashutosh bagged the first prize, Muskaan the second, and Shivalika the third.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated the students for successfully celebrating Anti-Ragging Week and lauded their spirited participation. She commended the unwavering efforts of the Anti-Ragging Cell in-charges, Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Monika Mogla, and Dr. Kewal Krishan Nailwal, whose commitment and dedication ensured the success of the event. She remarked that such initiatives cultivate empathy, resilience, and a strong moral compass among students, enabling them to stand firmly against social evils. She further emphasized that the true essence of education lies not only in academic brilliance but also in nurturing a sense of responsibility, integrity, and compassion to lay the foundation of a just and enlightened society.
