Jalandhar January 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NSS Wing of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar inaugurated the 7 day NSS Camp in the College campus. The theme of the camp is SAPTVARN – Colours of Life.
The objective of this 7-day NSS camp is to provide an opportunity for students to engage in community service, develop their leadership skills, and foster a sense of social responsibility. The camp aims to bring about a positive transformation in the lives of the participants and the community they serve. With the motto to make students responsible and the joy of giving and sharing, Apeejay College always provides its students the various platforms to explore and ultimate become a better and responsible citizen.
In this 7 day Camp, students shall visit different villages, organise and be the part of cleanliness drives and campaigns, create general awareness about cyber crime and scams and drug abuse to the villagers and truck drivers. Also, there shall be competitions for the students to participate in like Poster Making, Photography, Best out of waste etc. Also, the free health check up camps shall be organized during this 7 day NSS Camp.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra inaugurated the camp and she wished luck to the students who had volunteered to join the camp and were working actively in it.
Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Head, PG Department of Computer Science, LKC, Jalandhar was the Resource Person
In the Technical Session, Dr. Sanjeev Anand, Head, PG Department of Computer Science, LKC, Jalandhar was the Resource Person who addressed the students on the topic – Youth Development where he emphasized how the youth can contribute in the betterment of the nation. He also talked of the responsibilities and duties that youth has and how it is necessary to leave the world better than they had found. The students felt very inspired listening to Dr. Anand and interacted enthusiastically with him.
During the Inauguration, Sahil, NSS Volunteer recited a poem while Anurag, Akshat and Paras awed the audience with their musical mash up. Also, the play titled Zehar was enacted by the NSS Volunteers.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra congratulated and admired Dr. Simkee Dev (Dean, NSS Wing), Ms. Chetna Sharma and her dedicated team for making the programme success.
