Jalandhar April 30 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar continues to touch heights in various fields taking inspiration from its Founder Chairman Dr. Stya paul Ji and Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University while preserving its rich heritage, it remains in the forefront for the all-round development of the students. Degrees were conferred on 570 students in the 44th Annual Convocation of three sessions.
Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was present as the Chief Guest. On this auspicious occasion of the Convocation, Member of the Board of Governors, Shri Nirmal Mahajan and Dr. Sucharita Sharma Pro Vice Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University were also present.
The Convocation ceremony began with the academic procession followed by Vande Mataram by lighting the sacred flame.
On this special occasion, the journey of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia was shown to the students through the documentary. It showed how with the successful direction of her father Dr. Satya paul ji and her dedication, foresightedness and creativity, today she has received many honours and is a renowned personality at the international level.
Madam Mrs. Sushma Pal Barlia had joined the programme virtually to preside over the convocation.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while congratulating Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Mr. Nirmal Mahajan and Dr. Sucharita Sharma, said that our students are extremely fortunate that today they are getting the auspicious opportunity of getting degrees from such successful and renowned educationists.
Dr. Dhingra, while introducing the guests and students present on the occasion about the achievements of the college in various fields, said that today Apeejay College is continuously moving ahead on the path of progress and making its way towards victory in every field. She said that the way Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia has made important contribution in entrepreneurship, value based education and women empowerment cannot be expressed in words.

Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia (Chairman, Apeejay Education; Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University; Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group) showered words of admiration for the worthy Chief Guest of the day Hon’ble Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu under whose aegis and excellent leadership, GNDU, Amritsar is making commendable progress every year. She added that it is the matter of pride for everyone that his leadership has set the exempalry excellence in the education and has also introduced the changes in the curriculum for the students as per the latest demands. Madam Berlia added that he is truly the source of inspiration for our young students on whom today the degrees are being conferred.
Addressing the students, Madam Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia said, “You are the future of the nation and in life always remember your mentors who were standing by your side to help you mainfest your careers and dreams.” She added the world we are living in is constantly changing and where it is obviously a positive change for with this for it is bringing the plethora of opportunities for the students to rise and shine but at the same time it is also challenging for it demands constant upgradation of skills to survive.
She also said that in life one comes across many challenges and in that moment be like an eagle who knows how to fly above the clouds and stay calm even in the storm.

Expressing his views, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu said that the existence of Apeejay College is like the Kohinoor- the diamond where the positive energy does not leave the person without influencing him. The college has its unique identity. Addressing the students, he said that after finishing their studies, their real life is about to begin and urged them to always do their duty honestly, follows ethics and values, remains disciplined and work hard with determination and surely they will succeed in their lives.
In the 44th convocation, 43 students were given Roll of honours for securing first position in the University and 570 students were conferred with degrees by Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Mr. Nirmal Mahajan, Dr. Sucharita Sharma and Dr. Neerja Dhingra.
Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu was honored with a memento. The Convocation ceremony concluded with national anthem and Dr. SunitKaur, Head, Department of English Department expressed gratitude to everyone.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra acknowledged the efforts and thanked the programme in-charges – Dr. Monica Anand and Dr. Manisha for the immense success of the convocation.
