Jalandhar March 7 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC), Jalandhar, organized its 12th Annual Sports Meet on 7th March, 2024, with the primary objective of fostering sportsmanship, encouraging students to embrace challenges, and overcome obstacles. The prestigious event witnessed the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Sanjeev Kumar Dang, a renowned Hockey Olympian & Asian Games Silver Medalist (1994) who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The festivities commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. R. S. Deol, highlighting the contemporary significance of sports in the face of life’s increasing stressors.
In a gesture of appreciation, the Chief Guest was honored with tokens of gratitude by S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director of Academic Affairs, and Dr. R.S. Deol, Director of LKCTC.
The March Past and Salute ceremony followed, during which Mr Gaurav Sharma, alongside the Chief Guest, took the sportsmanship oath. Subsequently, the Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri Sanjeev Kumar Dang (Hockey Olympian) officially declared the sports meet open, emphasizing the profound impact of sports on physical and mental well-being. Addressing the students, he underscored the critical role that educational institutions play in promoting sports, especially in light of the challenges faced by Punjab’s youth.

Various sporting events unfolded throughout the day, including the 100-meter race, Lemon Race, 3-leg race, Chess, Matka Race, Sack Race, Long Jump, Tug of War. Dr. R.S. Deol expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest in a vote of thanks, emphasizing the integral role sports play in society, countries, and individual development.
