Jalandhar November 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar participated in the Folk art exhibition organized by the Guru Nanak Dev University on the occasion of 54th Foundation Day of Guru Nanak Dev University on 24 November 2023 where they displayed rare objects related to Punjabi culture and heritage. Various colleges affiliated to the university had participated in this art exhibition.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that the professors and students of our college participate in this art exhibition every year with great joy and enthusiasm. She said such occasions help the students to connect and learn about their heritage and culture and ACFA never lags behind to provide them such opportunities. She added through this art exhibition, students will definitely be able to understand the rich heritage of Punjab. In this art exhibition, brass and bronze utensils, hand-made carpets, khesia, old folk instruments, phulkari, charkha, traditional pakhiyan jewellery, farming tools, gramophone, radio etc. were displayed by the college.

Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, while visiting this art exhibition appreciated the efforts of the college. In this art exhibition with the guidance of Ms Anuradha, Ms Pooja, Ms Swanti and Mr. Kunj, the students learned and understood the importance of this art exhibition. People brought their children in large numbers at this art exhibition organized by GNDU to acquaint them with the rich heritage of Punjab.
