Jalandhar November 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A one-day workshop on MS Excel and Business Analytics Framework was organized by the PG Department of Commerce and Management at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Mr. Gagan Jyoti, the college’s tally instructor, participated as the resource person. Sharing her thoughts on the workshop, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra remarked that such workshops—which the college organizes periodically—are the need of the hour to provide students with practical knowledge, ensuring they become highly proficient in their specific field.
During this workshop, Mr. Gagan Jyoti introduced students to advanced Excel, including text and logical functions. He also provided detailed instruction on data filtering and sorting, creating dynamic models, basic mathematical functions, descriptive statistics, moving averages, variance, charts and graphs, and data visualization. The objective of this workshop was to enhance students’ practical skills in using spreadsheet tools for business and financial decision-making, as well as to develop their analytical capabilities and their understanding of how to apply these tools in practical scenarios.
Dr. Dhingra highly commended the efforts of Dr. Monika Mogla, Head of the Commerce Department, and Mr. Amandeep Thakur for the successful organization of the workshop, and suggested that similar workshops on meaningful topics be organized in the future as well.
