Jalandhar September 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a vibrant Freshers’ Party titled ‘Jashn-e-Aaghaz 2026-27’ with great zeal and grandeur to welcome the incoming batch of students. The celebrations were graced by College Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu. On this occasion, Head of the Department of Commerce Amita Shahid, alongside faculty members and students, warmly welcomed the Principal by presenting a bouquet of fresh flowers.
While addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu welcomed the newly admitted students to the college fold and stated that Lyallpur Khalsa College, a premier heritage institution of North India, has always been committed to providing top-quality education while nurturing leadership qualities in students. He remarked that practical experience and co-curricular initiatives are crucial for students to excel in the competitive global arena of business and commerce, urging them to utilize every opportunity to build a successful future. A major highlight of the event was the official formation of the students’ body, Commerce Association and Business Club.

To instill a sense of responsibility and institutional leadership, an impressive Badge Ceremony was conducted. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, along with HOD Amita Shahid and other faculty members, pinned the prestigious badges on the newly appointed student office-bearers and executive committee members of both forums, charging them to lead their peers with integrity and enthusiasm. Speaking on the occasion, HOD Amita Shahid highlighted that the Commerce Association and Business Club will serve as vital platforms for organizing business competitions and other cocurricular activities to cultivate entrepreneurial and managerial skills among students.
She extended her best wishes to the badge recipients and welcomed the freshers to the departmental family. The program featured vibrant cultural performances, including folk dances, melodious songs, and poetry presented by the students, creating an energetic and joyous atmosphere. A modeling contest was also held to crown Mr. and Miss Fresher, adding excitement to the celebration. In the end, a formal vote of thanks was delivered, expressing gratitude to the Principal, faculty, and organizers. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, and a large number of enthusiastic students were present on this momentous occasion.
