Jalandhar September 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organised Talent Hunt 2026 to enhance and amplify the talent and skills of young and energetic students of SSC I & SSC II. More than 350 Students of SSC-I and SSC-II utilized this opportunity enthusiastically and showcased their talent pertaining to multiple facets ranging from Declamation Contest, Poem Recitation, Music & Dance, Nail Art, Mehndi, Rangoli Competition, Reel Making, Mimicry to Quiz Contest. The Chief Guest of the event was Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla. Dean Academics and School Advisor Dr. Seema Marwaha, Mrs Upma Gupta, School Incharge, & Mrs Renu Walia, Incharge Cultural Activities, welcomed the esteemed Chief Guest with a planter.
The event was commenced with lamp lighting followed by DAV Gaan. The dynamic force behind this event, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla expressed her immense pleasure to watch the wonderful performances of the students. Addressing the students, Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla welcomed the young participants and highlighted the purpose of organising the Talent Hunt. She said that the event aimed to identify the multifaceted talents hidden within students and provide them with a suitable platform to showcase and nurture their abilities. She appreciated the efforts of the students and remarked that every student possesses a unique talent which can be recognised and refined through appropriate opportunities.
She encouraged the students to make the best use of their talents and bring pride to their parents, teachers and institution. She further advised them not to compare their talents with those of others, as every individual is unique and has been blessed by God with different abilities. She motivated the students to take inspiration from the talents of others, imbibe their good qualities and strive to become better human beings. The declamation contest as well as Poem Recitation was adjudged by Dr Saloni Sharma, Head Physics Department in which the students eloquently expressed their oratory skills.
Prabhnoor kaur secured the first position
In Declamation contest, Prabhnoor kaur secured the first position, Diya Vaid Got the second and Tanu attained the third position. In poem recitation, Diya Vaid, Jasmine Kaur and Pragati secured first, second and third positions respectively. In Mind Blogger (Quiz Competition) Anuradha Kumari stood first, Arshiya second and Sejal secured the third position and it was adjudged by Dr Sushil Kumar, Assistant Professor Physics Department. The sharp acumen in Mehandi competition and Nail Art was given by Ms. Mukti Arora, Assistant Professor in Cosmetology.
In Mehandi competition, Rose attained the first position, Bhumi secured the second position and in the third position stood Manya kaur and Rani. In Nail Arts Competition, Kritika clinched the first position. The Rangoli competition was adjuged by Dr Rakhi Mehta Head BD Department and in it Jasmeen, Dipika Rawat & Sushma Devi & Harleen Kaur secured the first, second and third position respectively. Reel Making competition was assessed by Dr. Rama Sharma, Head of Mass Communication and Journalism Department, in which Nikita secured the first position, Gurbani Kaur attained the second position and Khushbu attained the third position.
The Music Contest was adjudged by, Dr. Ritu Bhardwa
Dr Baljinder Singh, Assistant Professor in Sociology adjudged Mimicry Competition in which Rhythm Kaur stood first and Sushma got the best actor prize. The Music Contest was adjudged by, Dr. Ritu Bhardwa, Assistant Professor in Music, in which Sehajpreet kaur secured first, and Ruth secured second position in Music Vocal category and Jasleen secured the first position in Music Instrument category.
Mrs Surbhi, Assistant professor in Indian Classical Dance, acted as a judge of dance competition in which Gursimranpreet Kaur attained the first position, Prabhnoor kaur secured second and Tavleen & Nikita secured third position in solo category and in group category, Gidha Punjabi Mutiyara da, Vibe Tribe, and Keesha & Yashika secured the first, second and the third positions respectively. The stage was conducted by Ms. Sukriti Sharma. All the members of teaching and non teaching staff were present in the event.
