Jalandhar May 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme ‘Universal Human Values’ concluded on a highly enriching and dignified note at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. The programme was conducted under the aegis of Principal Dr (Mrs) Ekta Khosla and was successfully organized with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Dr Satish Sharma, a renowned physician and social worker, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he expressed his pleasure at being part of a platform dedicated to meaningful discussions on human values. He emphasized that true health is not limited to the physical body but also includes mental well-being and healthy relationships.
Stressing the importance of integrating values, sensitivity, and right understanding into education, he urged everyone to bring harmony into their thought and behaviour. He also extended his best wishes for the bright future of all the participants. Principal Dr Ekta Khosla, in her address, congratulated the entire programme team, especially Programme Coordinator Dr Ramneeta Saini Sharda and Co-coordinator Mr Sumit Sharma. She also expressed her gratitude to the keynote speaker, Mr Jatinder Narula. Highlighting the true purpose of education, she stated that it goes beyond imparting knowledge and includes nurturing ethical values, sensitivity, and a sense of responsibility among students.

On the third and the concluding day of the programme, keynote speaker Mr Jatinder Narula delivered an insightful lecture on the internal processes of human life, including desire, thought, expectation, imagination, behaviour, action, feeling, purpose, planning, competence, and efficiency.
He explained that these elements significantly influence human decisions and lifestyle; and understanding them correctly is essential. He elaborated that desires and thoughts determine direction, while expectations and imagination shape behaviour.

He also highlighted the importance of purpose and planning, stating that a well-defined purpose supported by a structured plan enhances one’s competence and efficiency. Focusing on relationships, he underlined the role of emotions such as trust, respect, affection, and cooperation in building strong and healthy bonds. He encouraged participants to engage in self-reflection to better understand their thoughts, desires, and actions, and to channel them positively for achieving harmony in personal and social life.
Summarizing the three-day programme, Mr Narula motivated participants to incorporate these values into the education system and carry them forward. Participants from various institutions shared their experiences and described the FDP as highly beneficial and inspiring. Ms Seema from St Soldier College, Dr Annie from NVIT, Dr Bhupinder from DAV College, Mr Waqar from PTU, and Ms Protima from HMV noted that the workshop had brought a positive change in their perspectives. They also committed to integrating these values into their teaching practices.
Programme Coordinator Dr Ramneeta Sharda extended her gratitude to all guests, resource persons, and participants, stating that such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing the quality of education. She expressed hope that the knowledge gained would be effectively implemented in their respective institutions. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Co-coordinator Mr Sumit Sharma, who acknowledged the contributions of all those involved in making the programme a grand success.
