Jalandhar April 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj with great zeal and fervour under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla. The event was organized by the Vedic Adhyan Committee in collaboration with the Departments of Sanskrit and Music. The students presented soulful Vedic bhajans, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. The main objective of the programme was to inspire students through the life and teachings of Mahatma Hansraj and to promote Vedic culture and values through music.
Dean Youth Welfare, Dr. Navroop Kaur, highlighted that the personality of Mahatma Hansraj serves as a guiding light and a source of inspiration for all. Dean , Vedic Studies, Dr. Mamta, emphasized that the institution proudly carries his name and his immense contribution towards D.A.V. institutions can never be forgotten. Head of the Music Department, Dr. Prem Sagar, shared inspiring anecdotes from Mahatma Hansraj’s life, particularly focusing on his selfless service.
Head of the Sanskrit Department, Dr. Meenu Talwar, also acquainted the students with significant incidents from his life. Students including Diya, Sargam, Sahaj, Nirjala, Shivani, Isha, Anjali, and Khushboo presented bhajans such as “Mujh Mein Om, Tujh Mein Om,” “Bharat Pyara Desh Hamara,” “Vedic Dharma Ki Jai Ho,” and “D.A.V. Jai Jai,” along with patriotic songs, which filled the environment with devotion and enthusiasm. The programme concluded on a note of reverence as everyone paid tribute to Mahatma Hansraj, remembering his ideals of dedication, service and sacrifice.
