Jalandhar April 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College provides ample opportunities to its students and staff for their overall growth and development. Keeping this intact, 38 NSS volunteers of the college participated in Hiking and trekking camps. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu congratulated the NSS volunteers on the successful completion of their respective adventure camps. Dr. Sandhu said that these camps instill skills related to team spirit, discipline and self management. He appreciated the efforts of department of youth services to promote tourism in state by developing camp sites in Punjab.
Coordinator of Youth Services, LKC, Prof. Satpal Singh, selected as camp in charge in one of these camps, informed that total 09 camp sites are being developed by Department of Youth Services, Punjab in the state to provide unique experience of trekking, navigation, mountainous life, forests and wild life. He added that 38 volunteers of the college have attended these 05 day adventure camps at Harike Pattan, Nara, Mirzapur and Siswan and 15 more are going to attend in upcoming days.
The volunteers also shared their experiences of living in limited resources, how to escape natural disasters and how to assist others in need. All the volunteers expressed their gratitude to the President College Governing Council, Principal and Dept. of Youth Services, Punjab for providing such life learning skill experiences.
