Jalandhar March 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, have once again demonstrated their exceptional calibre by achieving remarkable success at the National Youth Festival held at Sathyabama University, Chennai. Representing Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, the students showcased their artistic brilliance and secured top positions, bringing immense pride to both their institution and the university.

A total of 168 universities from across the country participated in the prestigious festival, making the competition intensely challenging. Despite this, Apeejay students emerged as frontrunners with outstanding performances across multiple categories.

Harsifat Kaur secured First Position in Western Vocal Solo. In Western Group Song, the team comprising Harsifat, Sukhmani, Ghazal, Ramneek, Harleen, and Anmol clinched First Position. Sahil Sidhu achieved First Position in Classical Percussion, while Harpreet Singh earned Second Position in Western Instrumental. The Folk Group Dance team—Gargi, Nisha, Palwinder, Himani, Bhumi, Prachi, Jaspinder, and Diya—secured Second Position. Gargi also brought laurels by winning Third Position in Indian Classical Dance.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra extended her heartfelt congratulations to the winning students and remarked, “Your accomplishments at a national platform, competing among participants from 168 universities, reflect not only your talent but also your resilience, discipline, and artistic excellence. Such achievements are a testament to your unwavering dedication and the vibrant cultural ethos of Apeejay.”

She further expressed her gratitude to Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge of the Youth Welfare Department and Head of the Department of Physical Education, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, for providing students with the opportunity to participate in this prestigious festival.

Appreciating the relentless efforts of the mentors, she lauded Dr. Arun Mishra, Cultural Coordinator, Dr. Amita Mishra, Dean of Youth Welfare , Dr. Micky Verma, Head of Department of Dance , Dr. Sumit Singh ‘Padam’, and Mr. Amandeep Singh for their continuous guidance, inspiration, and commitment. She added that their dedication continues to motivate students to scale new heights of excellence.
