Lyallpur Khalsa College organizes friendly cricket match between Teaching and Non-teaching XI

Jalandhar March 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar provides a conducive environment to its employees and students for their mental well being and good health. Recently, a 16 overs cricket match was played between Teaching XI and Non-Teaching XI at the college playground. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu attended the event as the chief guest. Dr. Sandhu in his opening remarks wished good luck to both teams and added that friendly cricket matches are organized every year and these events bring out moments of joy, reduce stress and maintain fitness of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

He also said that such matches play an important role in creating a happy atmosphere among the staff. The teaching team consisted of Dr. Arun Dev Sharma (Captain), Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Sarabjit Singh, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Prof. Annie Goel, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Prof. Manvir Pal, Prof. Bhagwat Kumar, Prof. Karthik, Prof. Sahil and the non-teaching staff included Mr. Sarabjit Singh (Captain), Mr. Ranjit Singh, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Mr. Rakesh Singh, Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Mr. Gopi Chand, Mr. Inderjit Gill, Mr. Bhushan Verma, Mr. Harjit Singh, Mr. Mohit and Mr. Kuldeep Sidhu.

The non-teaching staff team won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 124 runs and the teaching XI scored 125 runs in 12 overs. Prof. Satpal Singh, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra and Dr. Daljit Kaur played the role of commentators. Prof. Sandeep Ahuja, Mr. Ashwani Kumar and Prof.Manish Goel played the role of umpires and Prof. Vikas Kumar, Prof. Navneet Arora, and Mr. Amandeep Kumar kept the record of scoreboard. All the staff and students were present as spectators on this occasion. In the end, Dr. S.S. Bains, Dean Sports thanked everyone.
