Jalandhar January 30 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- In order to celebrate the phenomenal accomplishments of its students, Achievers’ Day 2025–26 was organised at HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School with great enthusiasm under the able and inspiring guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla. The occasion was graced by the august presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Hon’ble Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, and the Guest of Honour, Sh. Surinder Seth Ji, esteemed member of the DAV Local Advisory Committee. The ceremony commenced on a solemn note with the invocation to the Almighty through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and wisdom.

Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, School Advisor and Dean Academics Dr. Seema Marwaha, and School Coordinator Mrs. Arvinder Kaur accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries by presenting bouquets, planters, and tokens of gratitude – a beautiful painting prepared by the students of the Fine Arts Department and a handcrafted shawl designed by the Fashion Designing students of HMV.

In her address, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla proudly presented the Annual Report for the academic session 2025–26, highlighting the remarkable achievements of students in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports.

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Padma Shri awardee Dr. Punam Suri Ji, President, DAV Managing Committee, and the entire DAV Managing Committee for their constant support in realising the vision of empowering women and creating legends. The esteemed dignitaries then conferred medals and certificates upon the achievers. In academics, 24 medals were awarded to SSC-II students and 16 medals to SSC-I students. In the field of sports, 13 medals were presented to SSC-II and 19 medals to SSC-I students. On this occasion, the Head Girl, Joint Head Girl, office bearers, and class representatives were also honoured with certificates.

The prestigious Best Student of the Year Award was bestowed upon Shrishti Kumar in recognition of her outstanding performance throughout the session. Mehak (SSC-I Arts) and Rupinder Kaur (SSC-II Arts) were honoured with the title of Pride of HMV for their exceptional achievements in sports, while Navya received the Best Player of the Year Award. In his inspiring address, Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi fondly reminisced about his association with HMV. He recalled visiting the Lahore Library, where he witnessed preserved portraits of Swami Dayanand Ji and Mahatma Hans Raj Ji. He described HMV as a Mini University excelling in academics, cultural pursuits, and sports, truly translating the vision of Mahatma Hans Raj Ji into reality.

He also spoke about India’s rich cultural heritage and urged students to uphold its values. Guest of Honour Sh. Surinder Seth Ji congratulated all the achievers and, in his characteristic vibrant manner, encouraged students to nurture a lifelong quest for knowledge and excellence. He motivated them to explore their hidden potential and reminded them of the responsibilities they would shoulder in the future, inspiring them to fulfil their duties with dedication and integrity.

The celebration was further elevated by a melodious folk song presented by the students under the guidance of Dr. Prem Sagar, Music Department. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and School Advisor. The joy and pride among the honoured students were clearly palpable. The programme was efficiently and energetically conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Ms. Sukriti Sharma, and Ms. Rashmi Sethi. All faculty members of the Collegiate School section were present on the occasion. The event concluded on a patriotic note with the recitation of the National Anthem.
