Jalandhar January 29 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, the PG Department of Computer Science & IT Forum organized the 16th Tech Fest – an Inter-School Competition. More than 400 students from 15 different schools of Punjab participated, where 20 types of competitions were organized—Business Plan Presentation, Play with Clay, Painting on the Spot, General Quiz Bonanza, Gaming, Picture Captioning, Poster Presentation, Photography, Gustakhi Maaf, Website Development, Programming Skills, Declamation, Poetical Recitation, Theme-based Modelling, T-shirt Painting, Mobile App Idea Presentation, Rangoli, Cooking, Group Dance, and News Reading.
During the Inaugural Ceremony, Ms. Gurinderjeet Kaur, District Education Officer, Jalandhar, presided over the event as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal, ACFA, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and expressed that her presence would certainly inspire the participating students from across Punjab. She also appreciated her commendable contribution towards strengthening the education system of Jalandhar through the integration of modern technologies.
Addressing the students, Ms. Gurinderjeet Kaur expressed her delight at interacting with such talented youth and appreciated the institution for preserving its legacy with dignity. She emphasized that the true aim of education lies in nurturing values rooted in Satyam, Shivam, and Sundaram, and highlighted the need to bridge the growing gap between government and private schooling through value-based education.

On the occasion, a thematic video highlighting the institution’s 50-year journey, titled “Soaring High Is My Nature,” was showcased. Also, a soulful Shiv Stuti presented by Samartha from the Performing Arts Department left the audience spellbound.
Ms. Rajni Kumar from the Department of Design acquainted the gathering with the college’s significant achievements.
During the Valedictory Ceremony, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, Jalandhar, presided over the event as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Dhingra warmly welcomed her and, in her admiration, put forth that she is a magnanimous force who has dedicatedly put in infinite efforts throughout her years of service at ACFA and has contributed immensely to the growth of the college. Under her visionary guidance, ACFA has achieved remarkable growth in every domain—academics, fine arts, and cultural activities—while earning national recognition.
Sharing her reflections, Dr. Sucharita Sharma stated that her 41-year-long association with Apeejay College has been a journey of continuous learning, perseverance, and purpose, shaped profoundly under the guidance of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia.
The event witnessed a powerful choreography based on the theme of Nari Shakti by 15 students from the Department of Performing Arts.
The Championship Trophy of Tech Fest 2026 was bagged by Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, whereas MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, Jalandhar, bagged the 2nd position, and Apeejay School, Model Town, bagged the 3rd position. All the winning students received certificates and prizes.
Appreciating the successful execution of the event, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra lauded the efforts of Overall In-charges—Dr. Rupali Sood & Dr. Monika Anand; Conveners—Dr. Jagmohan Mago & Dr. Rekha; and Function In-charges—Dr. Manisha Sharma and Ms. Pallavi Mehta, along with the entire organizing team, for their dedication and teamwork.
