Jalandhar January 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College provides ample opportunities to its students to scale new heights at national and international level. Keeping this intact, 11 NSS volunteers of the college are going to be the part of tableaux at Republic Day Parade 2026. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu congratulated the participants and declared it a historic milestone that 11 students from one college are selected by the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India to be part of this grand celebration of the adoption of constitution of India. He added that this grand event will be live telecasted world wide and appealed to all the Punjabis around the world to watch and support Punjab’s tableau.
Chief NSS Program Officer Professor Satpal Singh informed that NSS volunteers were working hard from one year to be part of this parade and they were selected by the Ministry of Defence after rigorous tests and scrutiny. He added that all the expenses are borne by the Ministry. He informed that there are total of 14 participants in Punjab’s tableau, out of which 09 are from LKC while 02 more volunteers of the college are representing another tableau. It is matter of pride that NSS volunteer Jaskaran Singh of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is chosen as the team leader of the tableau of Punjab for the first time.
This year Punjab’s tableau is dedicated to the 350th martyrdom of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji representing the theme of universal brotherhood and it is voluntarily decided by the team Punjab that they will parade barefoot on Kartavya Path, which is 8 km long span, as a tribute to the sacrifice of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji. NSS volunteers Jaskaran Singh, Jaskaran Gadhra, Gurjap Singh, Gurwinder Kaur, Sadiya, Anjali, Sukhpreet Kaur, Aakriti, Muskan, Abhijeet Singh, Kamaljit Singh are from LKC while Armaanpreet Singh, Rahulpreet Singh, Harjot Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Harman Singh, from other colleges, are participating in this parade. All the participants are working hard to bring the perfection to their performance till the last reports came.
