Jalandhar December 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Red Ribbon club of Innocent Hearts College of Education organized a poster making competition on the theme ‘Choose Life, Not Drugs’. All the Red Ribbon club members wore red ribbons and made descriptive posters depicting the ill-effects of drug addiction. The physical ill-effects like damage to the liver, lungs and brain as well as the psychological impact including anxiety, depression, and loss of concentration were very well highlighted in the posters.
Red Ribbon club Incharge Tarun jyoti Kaur said that this poster making competition aimed to sensitize adolescents about the hazardous drug vulnerabilities and to remove their fear of sharing anything suspicious. Mehak Sharma and Khushi Sharma achieved first position, Karan Behl bagged second position and Shaveta Soni achieved third position in poster making competition.
Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and highlighted the fact that tobacco and alcohol are often referred to as gateway drugs as they are amongst the first substances consumed by adolescents.
