Jalandhar October 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Post Graduate History Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar celebrated the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with great devotion. Poster and slogan making competitions dedicated to these two great personalities were organized in this event. 53 students participated in it. On this occasion, the Principal of the college Dr. Suman Chopra in her message encouraged the students to take inspiration from the lives of Mahatma Gandhi, the priest of truth and non-violence, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the idol of simplicity.
Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Vice Principal, attended the event as the chief guest. She appreciated the posters made by the children under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and asked them to go further and participate in the activities of the college. On this occasion, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand, Dean Student Welfare and Prof. Sonia, Department of Fine Arts participated as judges.
In the poster competition, Mukesh Kumar, Amanpreet Kaur and Simon and in the slogan competition, Kundan Kumar, Manish Kumar and Harshpreet Kaur secured the first, second and third positions respectively. On this occasion, the stage was beautifully performed by Dr. Karanbir Singh. Dr. Amandeep Kaur thanked everyone. Prof. Sandeep Kaur and Prof. Amandeep Kaur were also present in this event. Certificates were also distributed to all the students in the competition.
