Jalandhar September 29 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NCC Unit of PCM SD College, Jalandhar, commemorated the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh with deep reverence and patriotic fervor at Bhagat Singh Chowk, Jalandhar. The program was organized to honor the legacy of the great revolutionary who laid down his life for the nation’s freedom. The cadets, led by ANO Captain Priya Mahajan, began the day by organizing a rally from PCM SD College to Bhagat Singh Chowk. With slogans echoing the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice, the rally attracted the attention of passersby and created an inspiring atmosphere in the city.

On reaching Bhagat Singh Chowk, the cadets paid a floral tribute to the immortal hero, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for his supreme sacrifice. As part of ‘Swachhotsav’ under the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Campaign, the cadets also undertook a cleanliness drive around the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The area was cleaned and beautified, and the cadets further expressed their creativity by making a vibrant ‘Swachhta ki Rangoli’ near the statue, symbolizing the message of cleanliness and national pride.
The heartfelt initiative received a warm response from the local residents and shopkeepers of Bhagat Singh Chowk, who spontaneously joined the cadets in paying tribute to the legendary freedom fighter. Along with the cadets, prominent members of Jalandhar’s trader–business community including Shri Ravindra Dhir (Founder Member, Traders Forum Jalandhar Metropolitan & State Convener, Sports Industry Association Punjab), Shri Vipin Prinja, Shri Arun Bajaj, Shri Yogesh Malhotra, Shri Rajendra Chatarth, Shri Ashok Chadda, and Shri Puneet Bhatia also joined in paying tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. They lauded the efforts of the young cadets, not only for remembering Bhagat Singh with dignity but also for spreading awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility.
