PCM S.D. College for Women Organises Virtual Cultural Exchange under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat

Jalandhar September 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Cultural Exchange Committee of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, hosted a virtual cultural interaction program under the scheme Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, an initiative of the Government of India. The program aims to promote cultural harmony and mutual learning between states, with Punjab paired with Andhra Pradesh. In this spirit, PCM S.D. College signed an MoU with Government College for Women (A), Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, to strengthen cultural understanding.

Nearly 60 students from both institutions came together in this virtual exchange to share reflections and explore the richness of each other’s traditions and lifestyles. At a time when technology has minimized physical boundaries, the event highlighted how virtual platforms can deepen human connections and foster a shared vision of unity in diversity.

The program opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Incharge of the Cultural Exchange Committee. This was followed by cultural presentations in which Guneet (B.A. B.Ed. Sem. I), Purnima (B.A. Sem. V), and Bhawna (B.A. Sem. V) showcased vibrant facets of Punjabi culture. Distinguished guests included the Vice-Principal, Coordinator of the Cultural Exchange Program, faculty members, and students of Government College for Women (A), Srikakulam, who shared thought-provoking insights into Andhra Pradesh’s culture and education system.

The event concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Dr. Indu Tyagi, Co-Incharge of the Cultural Exchange Committee, who expressed gratitude to the guests, students, and organizers for their enthusiastic participation. President Sh. Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Sh. Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the initiative, calling it a remarkable step toward fostering inter-state cultural understanding.

The event not only celebrated the diversity of cultures but also reinforced the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat—a united, inclusive, and culturally enriched India.
