Jalandhar January 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A seven-day NSS camp was inaugurated at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar by the NSS wing of the college. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra inaugurated the camp and said, ” Here at Apeejay college we ensure to provide ample opportunities to our students to grow and explore even outside the classroom. Our students along with shining at academic levels, they are ever ready to participate in various activities for their multilateral development.” Dr. Dhingra also talked about Sustainable Development Goals which is the need of the hour.
The 7 day camp has been organized by the NSS wing to create awareness amongst the youth regarding the protection of the environment. The scholars who have spent their chunk of life on the said subject shall be invited to the college to address the students.

Dr. Simki Dev (Dean NSS), in-charge of NSS camp introduced the students with the purpose and importance of NSS. While introducing NSS to the students, Dr. Dev told the students that NSS is a National Service Scheme which comes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. She expressed her views on the topic ‘Anthropocene Epoch’ and said that humans are causing a lot of harm to nature in the name of development and because of this today the problems like global warming and climate change exist. She added if we do not change our ways as per the mother nature then one day the human existence will end.
In the second session of the camp, Dr. HS Dhingra and Dr. Abhilaksh from Oxford Hospital were invited. They gave detailed information to the students about performing CPR in case of emergency. They also expressed the pain of continuous migration of youth from Punjab and the elderly being left alone.
In this camp, 50 students of the college participated in it. All of them enthusiastically look forward to the next 6 days of the camp and learn something new everyday.
