Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts learnt about the threats and preventions of cyber crime.

Jalandhar January 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The enthusiasm and zeal of the students in the seven- day camp, Sanaspanadan, being run by the NSS wing at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar is worth seeing. While the student campers are continuously gaining knowledge in various fields through this camp they are improving and acknowledging their social responsibilities as well.

On the fifth day of the camp, students learnt under the direction of Dr. Vinod Kumar that the practice of yoga is necessary to live a happy and healthy life. If yoga is made a part of daily routine, then there won’t be any need to visit the doctor.

We should avoid using public internet and beware of online money demanding

Mr. Vishal Sharma was present as the resource person for today’s technical session. Mr. Sharma has been continuously engaged in cyber crime investigations for the past 13 years and he conducts seminars to alert the youth about cyber crime. While talking to the youth about various types of cyber frauds, Mr. Sharma said that we should avoid using public internet and beware of online money demanding, UPI payment links, picture linking scams and the akin. He also gave preventive measures for the same.

He especially emphasized upon girls to use applications like hidden camera detectors in their mobile phones. He also said that it is very important to use a good anti-virus in your devices. He even shared links through which any type of cyber crime related complaint can be lodged.

Madam Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that she is happy that the students are working diligently in this camp which will definitely guide them in the future. She said that the enthusiasm shown by the students towards the camp during the holidays in such harsh weather conditions is really commendable. Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean NSS, for successfully organising the fifth day of Sanaspanadan.
