Jalandhar February 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The International Mother Language Day was celebrated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar by PG Department of Punjabi under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Chief Guests of the occasion were Sh. Pyara Singh Kudowal and Mrs. Surjeet (Canada). The guests were welcomed with Green Planters. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen addressed the audience and said that Punjabi language is language of our mind, heart and soul.

A person takes birth with mother language, we develop with our mother language. We should always contribute in the development of our mother language. She encouraged everyone to feel proud on mother language. She motivated the students to serve mother language. She congratulated Punjabi Department for organizing the event successfully. Head of Punjabi Department Mrs. Navroop made the students aware towards mother language. She told the students about various opportunities available in Punjabi Language.

Chief Guest Sh. Pyara Singh Kudowal shared his views with the students and said that Punjabi is a very beautiful language. Every mother language has its own identity/ Your mother language can protect your identity in every corner of the world. Mrs. Surjeet also motivated the students to use Punjabi Language in day to day work. She told them about various opportunities available in Punjabi language. The students of the department presented poems and songs in Punjabi language. Dr. Veena Arora presented vote of thanks. The stage was conducted by Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur. On this occasion Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Dr. Sandeep Kaur and Mrs. Pawandeep Kaur were also present.
