Jalandhar September 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A One-Day Orientation cum Review Workshop on ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ for Doaba region was successfully organized at PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with NITTTR, the Regional Coordinating Institute of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The workshop aimed to acquaint participants with innovative proposals and technologies geared towards sustainable rural development, in line with the objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
The workshop featured distinguished resource persons, Dr. U. N. Roy, Coordinator of RCI NITTTR, Professor and Head, Rural Development, along with Shri Joga Singh, Professor at Gulzar Group of Institutes, Ludhiana.
Dr. Roy elaborated on the wide array of initiatives undertaken by NITTTR, Chandigarh under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, emphasizing their contributions toward the welfare and holistic development of villages. He highlighted several success stories that demonstrate the impact of sustainable practices in rural communities.

Shri Joga Singh underscored the pressing need to focus on the development of rural youth, particularly through skill development programs and other community-oriented projects. He further encouraged the participants to adopt eco-friendly practices such as composting kitchen waste, conserving water, and embracing the importance of reusing and recycling for a more sustainable future.
Additionally, Ms Manavee Ajit Singh from IIT, Delhi, a representative of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, joined the workshop online, providing valuable insights into the process of proposal submission for rural development projects. Her session was followed by an interactive segment where various institutions shared their experiences and successes with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative.
The workshop concluded with an engaging discussion, leaving the participants inspired to contribute actively towards the mission of sustainable rural development through Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’s objectives.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the successful organization of the workshop and emphasised for the concentred efforts of the members of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Mrs Triptjit Kaur, Mrs Ritu Gill and Mrs Rachna for facilitating such an insightful and impactful event, highlighting the importance of these initiatives in empowering rural communities and fostering sustainable development. They further encouraged the college to continue playing an active role in promoting and supporting the noble objectives of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
