Jalandhar March 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The PG Department of Commerce and Management at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, under the aegis of MAC Forum, successfully organized a two-day workshop on the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM).
The workshop featured distinguished speakers Mr. Nagesh Kumar and Ms. Anita Saini, both of whom bring over 15 years of experience in stock market operations, SEBI law, and financial market compliance.
Welcoming the speakers, Principal Dr. NeerjaDhingra emphasized the importance of exposing students to industry experts alongside classroom teaching. She remarked, “Your expertise will offer our students valuable insights into stock markets, investment strategies, and financial compliance, enabling them to make informed financial decisions.”
During the sessions, the speakers provided an in-depth understanding of NISM, capital markets, and SEBI regulations. They stressed the significance of thoroughly researching investment opportunities before committing funds. Mr. Nagesh Kumar also introduced students to Application Supported Blocked Amount (ASBA), explaining that an investor can participate in up to 14 IPOs using this system.
The workshop also highlighted the various regulatory bodies that govern different business sectors, ensuring students gained a well-rounded perspective on financial market operations.
Concluding the event, Dr. Dhingra commended the efforts of the Department of Commerce and MAC Forum for organizing such an insightful workshop. She encouraged them to continue hosting similar events in the future to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
