Jalandhar August 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Tricolour was hoisted at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, with profound reverence and pride for Bharat Mata, as part of the celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra said that today’s young generation is truly fortunate to have access to advanced technology and modern facilities that can enable them to play a significant role in the nation’s development. She emphasised that India has made remarkable progress over the 80 years since Independence and expressed confidence that, with determination and commitment, the nation’s youth can accelerate this growth and take the country to greater heights. She further expressed confidence that the vision of a developed India can be realised within the next 25 years through the collective efforts of the younger generation.
Dr. Dhingra further stated that the grand celebration of Independence Day by the NSS Wing of the college aims to sensitise students not only towards their rights but also towards their duties and responsibilities as citizens. She said that such initiatives are essential for inspiring students to contribute meaningfully towards building a strong, self-reliant and progressive India.
She lauded the efforts of Dr. Monika Anand, Dean, Functions, and Dr. Simkee Dev, Dean, NSS Wing, for their dedicated efforts in ensuring the successful organisation of the flag-hoisting ceremony.
