Voc – Beauty & Wellness and PG Diploma in Fashion Makeover of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar visited Anthea Salon to explore the possibilities in the field of Fashion makeovers. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra while expressing her views said,” Here at Apeejay, we always impart practical knowledge related to the field, the students choose in order to give them the exposure in the real world.”

In the lieu of this, the students went to the salon so that they could be familiarized with the career possibilities in owning a salon.

Ms. Anthea, owner of Anthea Salon, who started her career as a Pollywood makeup artist and freelancer, is currently running her salon with great success. She taught the students about salon management, challenges, opportunities and tough competition in this field today. She also explained to the students in detail the difference between working as a freelancer makeup artist and running a salon. The students also learnt how to create attractive schemes and offers to attract more clients.

Ms. Anthea also told the students that today there is a lot of competition in this field and in order to rise above the crowd, one needs to equip themselves with every latest trend and demand prevalent around. Also, customer satisfaction too should be prioritized for the word travels and that can play a vital role in a makeup artist’s success. She also talked about the role of efficient communication skills in order to be successful. During the visit, the students learned about makeup brushes and also acquired knowledge about permanent makeup techniques.

Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Ms Meenal Sandhu of Department of Fashion Makeover for successfully organizing this visit and encouraged her to keep up with the good work.
