Jalandhar January 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The fifth day of the 7-day NSS camp ‘Saptvarn’ being held at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was dedicated to ‘Connecting with our Roots’.
The 5th day of camp began with a lecture on the topic ‘If Mahabharata would not have been there!’ which was delivered by Dr. Anjana Kumari, Head, Department of Hindi. She introduced the main characters of Mahabharata to the students and shed light on the vows of the main characters of the Mahabharata war. She asserted that if they had given priority to the country’s well being instead of their personal vows, then Mahabharata might not have happened.
During this lecture, discussions were also held with the students followed by an enthusiastic interaction. To instill the spirit of public welfare among the NSS Volunteers, they also went to Pinglaghar to celebrate Lohri, where they distributed Lohri sweets, chocolates and chips to the children. The NSS wing also celebrated the Lohri in the college campus with teachers and students.
On this occasion, Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) opined that in this era of technology and internet, today’s youth is forgetting its roots. So, here at Apeejay, we try to provide platforms for them to know and understand mythological stories and characters and in the NSS Camp, an entire day was dedicated for this purpose.
The NSS camp so that they can connect with their mythology, know their rich mythological stories and understand their relevance in today’s life.
Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Simki Dev, Dean, NSS Wing for the another successful and productive day of the camp.
