The Department of Multimedia of Apeejay College of Fine Arts went on an edutainment tour to Rajasthan

Jalandhar October 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Multimedia of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar went on a 7 day trip to Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra opined that at Apeejay, our aim is not limited to giving theoretical knowledge through traditional classroom teaching but to make them proficient in their subject by giving them practical knowledge. For the Department of Multimedia; it is important to experience the intricacies of photography as it is the part of their curriculum. She added that Rajasthan is a state of which the architecture and beauty of cities are definitely capable of providing them new dimensions of photography.

During this trip, the students spent time in Kuldhara village of Jaisalmer and while enjoying the sunrise there, they learned about the lifestyle and culture of the villagers and also captured it in their camera. In Jodhpur, the students saw the Mehrangarh Fort and the children were also given the ‘History through your lens’ assignment to understand the background of the architecture, cornices and doorways there. In Udaipur, the students spent time in City Palace, Sahelionki Bari and Fatehsagar Lake and learnt about its historical background. The students also did the assignment ‘Colours of Udaipur’ so that they could understand the lifestyle of the local people and their culture. The students also spent time in Pichola Lake in Udaipur.

Dr. Dhingra praised the efforts of Mr. VirendraSaggu, Mr. Dipitesh, Ms. Rachita of Department of Multimedia and Mr. Amandeep Thakur for the success of this historical and educational trip.
