Jalandhar February 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A live telecast of the Budget 2024 was shown to the students in order to make them aware of the important aspects of it at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. This initiative was taken by ‘Economics Forum’ of the Department of Economics.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressing her views on this subject, said that for the all-round development of our young generation, it is necessary that remain aquainted with the information about important topics related to their society and country.
While addressing the students about the Budget 2024, she said that it is the sixth budget which is being presented by the Finance Minister of the country, Smt. NirmalaSitharaman. She also shared that it is not a full budget but an interim budget. She added that in this budget, the government is making efforts for the betterment of youth. It has come up with special schemes in the field of making poor women entrepreneurs and increasing agricultural credit of farmers.
The government has set the objective of keeping the fiscal deficit at 5.1% of GDP. The aim of the government in this budget is to give loans to the middle class and poor section to provide them houses so that everyone can have a roof over their heads. The students also raised their queries regarding Budget 2024, which were answered satisfactorily by the teachers of Department of Economics.
