Jalandhar January 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar were sensitised to the significance of voting through a joint initiative of the Election Commission of India and the District Administration. The objective was to foster awareness among students about their voting rights and civic responsibilities.
Sharing her views on the occasion, Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal of the College, stated that while students are consistently encouraged to participate in academic, cultural, and sports activities, equal emphasis is laid on nurturing social awareness. She highlighted the importance of responsible citizenship and urged students to obtain their voter ID cards and understand the true value of their vote, as even a single vote can play a decisive role in bringing about positive change and influencing electoral outcomes.
As part of the awareness drive, students actively participated in various competitions organised by the Election Commission of India and the District Administration. On this occasion, students also took a pledge to exercise their right to vote honestly and fulfil their civic duties with integrity.
Appreciating the successful organisation of the programme, Dr Neerja Dhingra lauded the dedicated efforts of Dr Monika Anand, Dr Payal Arora, and Dr Simkhi Dev in making the event meaningful and impactful.
