Jalandhar February 22 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar won the Championship trophy on the occasion of International Mother Language Day organized by Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Ludhiana.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while congratulating the winners for their wonderful achievement, said, ” This victory is the outcome of your hardwork and sincere efforts that you put to prepare for these competitions.” She also encouraged the students to work hard in academics also and made their college and parents proud of them.
The students of ACFA had participated in various competitions. Out of which, the first prizes were won by Gagandeep Singh for his melodious performance in Folk song, Ankush and Nirvair Singh for holding a conversation using proverbs and idioms and Prateek Dutt Sharma for showcasing his skills in Poster making. Along with them, Khushi Sharma clinched the second prize in Poetry recitation and Prabhjot Kaur bagged third in Story Writing.
Principal, Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Ms Lovepreet Kaur, Ms Anuradha, Mr. Gurvinder Singh and Dr. Pooja from Department of Punjabi and Dr. Mandeep Singh from Department of Music for guiding the students in order to prepare for these competitions and encouraged them to continue delivering such excellent results and provide the students multiple platforms that gives them right kind of exposure which as a result polish and hone their skills.
