– More than 200 journalists and journalism students participated
Jalandhar May 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Pathway Global Alliance and Sputnik India jointly organized a virtual workshop on fake news and its prevention. More than 200 journalists from more than 50 media houses, and channels from 20 states participated in this workshop and participants of Nss unit of Netaji Subhas university of technology also participated.
At the workshop, Sputnik News Deputy Head Victoria Polikarpova gave detailed information about fake news. She explained what fake news is and what is its purpose. She said that some people spread fake news for their personal benefit and sometimes fake news gets published knowingly or unknowingly. In such a situation, it is important that the news and its content are thoroughly checked. During this, she also talked about the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Victoria Polikarpova also gave examples of many national and international level fake news and told how many media organizations had to amend their news and articles. She also discussed the role of Sputnik News and also gave information about the measures being taken by Sputnik to stop fake news. The workshop was conducted by Olga Dyashva, Chief Representative of Sputnik.
Varun Kashyap, Director of Pathway Global Alliance and Udai Sood, Deputy Director, while inaugurating this workshop, expressed concern over fake news and asked to take necessary steps to stop it. He welcomed all the journalists, institutions and students participating in the workshop. Rajesh Bagha, Chief Patron of Pathway Global Alliance and State Vice President of Punjab of Bharatiya Janata Party, expressed his gratitude to everyone and along with discussing the harm caused by fake news, appealed to all the journalists to propagate the measures suggested during the workshop and make people aware through their media houses. During the workshop, journalists asked many questions related to fake news and satisfied their curiosity. Victoria answered everyone’s questions in detail.
