Jalandhar August 20 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar successfully organized Nazariya 2.0 – A Photography Exhibition on the occasion of World Photography Day. The vibrant event brought together young visionaries, storytellers, and creative minds, celebrating the art of seeing the world through a unique lens. With nearly one hundred participants from various departments, the exhibition became a true festival of talent and imagination.
Building on the overwhelming success of its first edition, Nazariya 2.0 showcased the unparalleled perspectives of budding photographers who captured the world not merely as it is, but as they envisioned it. The event encouraged innovation, fresh ideas, and visual storytelling while providing a professional platform for students to express their creative narratives.
The exhibition featured a wide range of themes, from portraits and heritage to nature, moments in motion, and lights and shadows. Each frame reflected the extraordinary in the ordinary, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on life’s fleeting yet meaningful moments.

In her inspiring address, she encouraged students to “look at the world with fresh eyes, capture moments with meaning, and use creativity as a tool to inspire change.” Her words filled the participants with enthusiasm and set the perfect tone for the exhibition.
The competition was judged by Mr. Rajesh Kalsi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Design, who praised the participants for their distinct approaches and applauded the diverse ways in which they froze moments through their lenses.

In the Portraits category, Samita of BFA Semester 5 won the first prize for her striking capture of human emotions, while Diya of BAJMC Semester 5 and Samita of BFA Semester 5 secured the second and third positions respectively. The Heritage category was led by Ribhav Batra of B.D. Semester 7, who beautifully portrayed the essence of cultural legacy, followed by Niharika Sharma of B.D. Interior Semester 3 in second place and Aryan Jasaiwal of BFA Semester 5 in third.
Nature photography saw breathtaking entries, with Chandrima Kalia of BAJMC Semester 1 winning first prize, Sehaj of B.Com Semester 3 in second place, and Parth of BAJMC Semester 1 in third. Finally, the Lights and Shadows category showcased dramatic contrasts, where SrishtiArora of BAJMC Semester 1 claimed the first prize, Bhupat of B.D. Semester 7 stood second, and Naman of BFA Semester 3 secured third place.
A special mention must be made of the dedicated students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, whose tireless planning, coordination, and teamwork turned Nazariya 2.0 into a grand success. Their efforts brought life to the exhibition, making it an inspiring platform for young photographers to shine.
