Jalandhar March 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the able guidance of Principal, PG Department of Fashion Designing in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council and Incubation Centre organised a Three-Day Workshop on the theme ‘Fashion Incubator: Converting Innovation into a Startup’
The intent was to encourage graduation and post graduation students to transform their creative ideas into entrepreneurial ventures in the fashion industry.
On Day I, the focus was on the traditional art of Kalamkari, where resource person Ritu Lal, a Fevicryl expert, introduced students to its techniques, motifs, and applications through engaging practical sessions.
Day II featured Ashwani Khosla, expert and distributor of Briteway Colours, who conducted an interactive session on fabric printing and tie & dye, highlighting innovative surface design techniques and their commercial potential.
On Day III, Savita Rani, Assistant Professor at PTM Arya College, Nurmahal, guided students on converting their creative innovations into startups by discussing business planning, branding, and marketing strategies.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the department for holding a highly informative and inspiring session, equipping participants with both creative skills and entrepreneurial insights essential for building a successful fashion venture.
