PCM S.D. College for Women Organizes Informative Session on Digital Library Resources

Jalandhar September 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Library Advisory Committee of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized an informative session on Digital Library Resources to guide students in the effective use of e-resources. The session was conducted by Ms. Sonia Kumari, Librarian, who explained how digital libraries are transforming the way students access and utilize information.

In her address, Ms. Sonia highlighted the availability of e-journals, e-books, databases, online theses, OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), and open-access resources provided by the college library. She further elaborated on the process of accessing these resources both on-campus and remotely. She emphasized that digital resources not only save time but also ensure authenticity, thereby supporting students’ academic and research needs. The librarian also demonstrated the use of platforms such as INFLIBNET N-LIST, Shodhganga, DOAJ, and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI).

The session concluded with an engaging question–answer round, where students clarified their queries regarding downloading, citation, and plagiarism issues. Students appreciated the initiative and expressed eagerness to make effective use of digital resources for their academic pursuits and competitive exam preparations.

President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other honourable members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the initiative of the library. They emphasized that such efforts not only make students digitally empowered but also prepare them to meet global academic standards. They congratulated the librarian for bridging the gap between traditional learning and modern resources, thereby paving the way for a future-ready generation of learners.
