Jalandhar June 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The PG Department of Commerce and Management of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized a One Month Free Skill Oriented Course on Tally Prime 2.1(Accounting Software). These classes were organized for the students who have done SSC-II Commerce. The curriculum provided thorough coverage of essential accounting software skills, beginning with Tally fundamentals including Gateway screens, menu navigation, and crucial shortcut keys for enhanced productivity.
Students received hands-on training in company setup procedures, including creation, alteration, and deletion processes. Practical sessions focused on core accounting functions such as ledger management and various voucher entries. The program emphasized real-world application through comprehensive training in financial statement preparation including Day Books, Trial Balance, Profit and Loss Accounts, and Balance Sheets.
Additionally, students learnt ratio analysis techniques for financial interpretation. The detailed knowledge about both Tally ERP9 and Tally Prime 2.1 ensured students proficiency in both legacy and current software versions, enhancing their market readiness. The course was a fruitful and a learning experience for the students. A total of 30 students enrolled for the course and 24 students were awarded certificates of course completion on the concluding day.
The trainers were Ms. Diksha Bakshi, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce and Management and Ms. Dinakshi Mahendru Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce and Management. President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the strategic initiative which effectively bridged the gap between theoretical commerce education and practical industry requirements, significantly improving students’ employability prospects in accounting, finance, and business sectors while providing valuable professional credentials.
