Jalandhar April 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Psychology of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the aegis of IQAC, organised an International Webinar on the topic “From Habit to Addiction: Understanding Excessive Phone Use.” The objective of the webinar was to create awareness about the growing concern of excessive phone usage and its impact on mental health.

The resource person for the session was Ms. Ramandeep Kaur, Psychologist and Registered De-addiction and Rehabilitation Counsellor from New Zealand. She shared valuable insights into the difference between habitual phone use and addiction, along with its psychological implications. The session also highlighted the impact of excessive screen time on emotional well-being, productivity, and interpersonal relationships.

A large number of students participated enthusiastically in the webinar and actively engaged in the session. The resource person also discussed practical strategies to manage screen time and develop healthier digital habits.

The webinar was coordinated by Ms. Charul Mehta from the Department of Psychology, who also formally welcomed the resource person and participants. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker and all the attendees.
The webinar proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students gain a deeper understanding of an important contemporary issue.

President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, the other honourable members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the efforts of the Department of Psychology for successfully organising the webinar.
