Jalandhar 14 August (Natasha)- In a vibrant display of patriotism and unity, the NCC Army Wing and the Central Association of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great zeal. The occasion honoured the indomitable spirit and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who gifted the nation its liberty. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar.
The celebration began with the ceremonial pinning of badges on the chief guest, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, and faculty members, symbolising honour and responsibility towards the nation. This was followed by the solemn hoisting of the National Flag, after which the NCC cadets presented an impressive march past and offered a smart salute to the flag, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotic fervour.
The chief guest then delivered an inspiring address, urging students to uphold the ideals of freedom and responsibility. She highlighted the continued significance of independence in shaping a nation’s destiny and remarked that a country’s true progress rests on quality education, citizens’ well-being, and strong democratic values.
The event served as a reminder of the collective duty to safeguard the principles of democracy, unity, and diversity.
