Jalandhar May 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Department of Home Science, in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), organized a candle making competition as a self-driven activity aimed at fostering creativity, teamwork, and innovation among participants. The event provided a platform for individuals to showcase their candle-making skills and artistic abilities, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across all streams.
Participants were provided with basic candle-making supplies such as soy wax, paraffin wax, wicks, molds, dyes, and fragrances. They brought their own specialized tools and decorations to enhance their creations. The judging criteria included creativity and originality, technique, design, craftsmanship, innovative use of materials, and overall aesthetics.
Prizes were awarded in various categories, including Most Creative Design, Best Use of Color, and Overall Excellence. In this competition, Ridhi of B.A. Semester VI won first prize, Kanishka of B.A. Semester II and Mansi of B.A. Semester IV shared second prize, and Shalinee of B.A. Semester II secured third prize.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other honorable members of the Managing Committee, and Worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the efforts of the Department for this innovative and creative initiative.
