Jalandhar February 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized its 51st College Fete 2026 with great enthusiasm and festive spirit under the able leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar. The vibrant celebration reflected the institution’s commitment to holistic education by blending joy, creativity, and entrepreneurial learning.
Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and added dignity to the event with her august presence. The programme was further honoured by the presence of President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, Shri Raman Budhia, Mrs. Chander Mohini Markanda, Shri T.N. Lama, Shri D.K. Joshi, Shri Parveen Dada, and Dr. Kiran Arora, esteemed members of the Managing Committee.
The event commenced with a floral welcome of the Chief Guest, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The Department of Music set a devotional tone with a soulful Saraswati Vandana. Welcoming the dignitaries, Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar extended warm greetings and highlighted the significance of such events in nurturing confidence, leadership, and values among students.
In her inspiring address, Dr. Mandeep Kaur emphasized the importance of respecting India’s heritage, values, and social harmony, and urged students to lead lives rooted in dignity, confidence, and responsibility. She also underlined the vital role of teachers as role models in shaping enlightened and disciplined citizens.

The audience was enthralled by a vibrant Gujarati folk dance presented by the students of the Department of Dance, which showcased rhythmic excellence and cultural richness. The Chief Guest formally declared the fete open and visited the colourful food stalls, fun games, and grooming station, appreciating the creativity and enthusiasm of the students.
Students from the Department of Fashion Designing and Cosmetology displayed commendable entrepreneurial skills by setting up stalls of handmade crafts and jewellery under the Earn While You Learn scheme. A separate stall put up by the State Bank of India, Mandi Fenton Ganj, also attracted visitors.
The much-awaited Raffle Draw emerged as a major highlight of the fete. On this occasion, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada ji was accorded a floral welcome. Mr. Atin, Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Mandi Fenton Ganj Branch and Mr. Manoj Solanki, Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Ladowali Road, the sponsors of the raffle draw, were felicitated with floral honours and tokens of appreciation. The announcement of winners and distribution of prizes generated immense excitement and cheer among the audience.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem. President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners and participants. Special appreciation was extended to the Fete In-charge, Mrs. Sunita Bhalla, and her dedicated team for their untiring efforts in making the 51st College Fete a memorable success.
