Jalandhar March 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, in recognition of her exemplary efforts in promoting the Punjabi mother tongue and fostering linguistic pride among the youth.
Under the visionary guidance of Dr. Pooja Prashar, the Department of Punjabi of the college organized the “Maa-Boli Punjabi March” dedicated to the observance of International Mother Language Day.
The march was conducted in collaboration with Punjab Jagriti Manch and several other organizations with the noble objective of encouraging awareness, respect, and reverence for Punjabi as the mother tongue. The initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to preserving linguistic heritage and nurturing cultural consciousness among students.
The march, initiated under the patronage of the head of the institution, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of the college, who joined the event with remarkable zeal and a deep sense of pride for their language and cultural identity.
On this occasion, the President of the Managing Committee, Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, along with other esteemed members of the Managing Committee and Dr.Pooja Prashar extended their heartfelt congratulations to Punjabi department on receiving the Certificate of Appreciation. They also commended its active involvement and dedicated efforts in organizing and participating in this meaningful initiative aimed at promoting and celebrating the richness of the Punjabi language.
