Jalandhar March 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The PG Department of Commerce and Management and Committee for Competitive Examinations Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar in collaboration with Plutus Education organized an Online Seminar on “From Degree to Career – Ready” via Google Meet. The objective of this event was to provide the essentials for Career Opportunities as ACCA.

The resource person was Ms. Khushi Gera, an expert from Plutus Education. During the session, she stressed the imperative need for skills that cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence, showing the way, ACCA professionals need to cultivate capabilities in interpreting financial statements and comprehending the narrative behind the figures. Guiding the students she said that students need to analyse the gap between what they are and what they want to achieve and shall later bridge the gap by working on those areas.
To engage participants, she gave a QR code for reviewing the financial statements of HUL for testing students’ financial awareness and basic accounting concepts. The Students discussed the results after analysing and got broader spectrum of knowledge of such accounting concepts.

She highlighted that ACCA professionals can look forward to initial salary of Rs. 12-15 lakhs per year, with a 10% annual growth potential. She explained the program’s flexible format, which has four sittings in March, June, September, and December, with results declared within 40 days, the course can be done in two to three years, with pass percentages ranging from 40% to 70%.
ACCA is recognized globally in more than 181 countries and has more than 600,000 registered students worldwide. She further pointed out that ACCA practitioners tend to possess a wider spectrum of knowledge and can establish their careers in less time.
A total of 62 participants attended this Seminar, including students and faculty members of PG Department of Commerce and Management. It offered relevant information about the ACCA qualification and career opportunities, specifically highlighting the value of financial reporting expertise and strategic thought in achieving success as finance professionals.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar applauded the department for successfully holding the session that equipped students for the job positions demanding skills in financial analysis, strategic planning, and stakeholder communication that are core competencies needed for future Chief Financial Officers and finance professionals working in a transforming global economy.
