Jalandhar September 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- An Orientation program was conducted for first semester students of B.Sc. and M.Sc classes. All students of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Economics and Computer Science participated in the event. The principal of the college Dr. Jaspal Singh was the chief guest. In his address, he appreciated the new students for choosing Lyallpur Khalsa College and apprised them about the college’s academic traditions, achievements in the fields of sports, culture and music.
Inspiring the students he said that they should get guidance from their teachers from time to time in this prestigious institution. He said that the college is committed to provide all possible support to its students in studies as well as in other fields.
Prof. Navdeep Kaur College Registrar motivated the students to set their goals
He told the students that the students of the college appear in the merit list of the university every year. He expressed hope that this year also the students of science departments will come in merit. On this occasion Prof. Navdeep Kaur College Registrar motivated the students to set their goals and achieve them. Dr. Harjinder Kaur and Dr. Nitika Chugh conducted the orientation session through power point presentation. The freshers were made aware about the departmental profiles, infrastructure and laboratory facilities. The students learned about the provision of remedial classes, revision classes, mentorship programs, grievance redressal system and scholarship schemes.
Apart from this, the students were informed about the new education system 2020. A wonderful dance and musical performance was performed by all the first year fresher students as well as senior students. It was an event brimming with talent and confidence. Convenor of the program Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Head, Department of Zoology and Botany presented the vote of thanks and wished all the students a successful and bright future. Dr. Amanpreet Kaur Sandhu and Dr. Upma Arora conducted the stage well. All the heads of the science department and faculty members were present on this occasion.
